How Can severe Red Bumps On The Legs And Arms Be Treated?

I have recently noticed several dry red scaly bumps on my legs and arms. Some are flat and lay against the skin, some are bumps which have a dry scaly area at the top which I can peal away and the bump remains and will later scale over. I also have a small patch of dry, red itchy area on the side of my left leg that has not responded to Cortisone cream and has remained basically the same now for weeks. I am an adult female and will be 65 in early April. I have always had dry skin but this is different.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There sounds to be a possible issue with vasculitides involving capillaries underneath the skin.

I would suggest consulting your dermatologist for detailed systemic evaluation rather than self-trials of creams.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
